Every since I was old enough to swing a hammer, I have wanted to pursue a career in the construction industry. Much of that can be attributed to my Dad.. Growing up, I worked many hours for my Dad and ultimately decided that this was the field that I wanted to work in. I started out with summer jobs in construction and surveying and eventually ended up at North Carolina State University. It was there that I earned my degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Management and a minor in Spanish. I obtained a job right out of school with a nationally recognized homebuilder, Centex Homes. In 2004, after 3 1/2 years at Centex, I finally decided that I wanted to start the process of fulfilling my dream…owning my own, successful, business. Thus, Decks By Design. So, here I am today, doing what I love for a living and enjoying every minute of it!
